Philmont Trek Itinerary Selection and Equipment Presentation
This Saturday (2.20.21) from 6-7 pm, the Council Contingent will be selecting their itinerary for their 7 day trek, June 11-19. The presentation will include a walkthrough of Itinerary 7-9 in the attached Itinerary guide for 2021, and descriptions and considerations when selecting an itinerary.
If you have not selected your itinerary for 2021, OR will be going to Philmont in 2022 or beyond, please join us and share in the information.
We have 5 slots open for scouts, and this is a coed crew. If you plan to go in 2022 without any scouts that have attended Philmont before, the Council Contingent would be a great place to get a potential 2022 Crew Leader some experience.
If you have any scouts interested in the Council Contingent, please contact Dustin Taylor. (Contact info at the bottom of this post) They are welcome to attend the meeting.
From 7-8 pm, there will be a presentation on personal equipment needed at Philmont. We will discuss fabrics, footwear, r-value of sleeping pads, torso length for sizing backpacks and sleeping bags for the tall and wide, just to highlight a few topics. We will go over each piece of personal equipment. Again, if you are going in 2021, OR will be going to Philmont in 2022 or beyond, please join us and share in the information.
