Coronado Area Council Popcorn Sales
The Coronado Area Council Popcorn Sale is conducted annually during the fall. This program allows packs, troops, teams, and crews the opportunity to participate in a coordinated council-wide fundraiser. Trainings are held in August with the active sales period from late September to end of October.
Last year, over $750,000 of popcorn was sold with close to $500,000 of that amount used to support both local and council programs. Thousands of Scouts benefited from the sale either by earning prizes, participating in local unit programs, or through our council camping programs as popcorn help fund their year of Scouting. Many Scouts also qualified for scholarships and other bonus awards.
Plan to particpate in this year's sale by contacting Wayne Pancoast, staff advisor.

On Line Ordering of Popcorn
You may get questions from your Scouts and families about how to order popcorn on line. Orderpopcorn.com is a feature of Trails End that allow a Scout to send an order key to family that is out of town so they can order popcorn and have it shipped to them saving the family shipping costs. Historically, it was not an easy process but this year, Trails End has made great advancements in its delivery and service.
Ordering on line is easy! The potential is unlimited. If each family were to email 5 people they know that live out of town, just think how many more orders your unit could receive? Think about how much this will help in the delivery of your program.
For more information about how On Line Ordering works (here).
This was forwarded to me from the council in Bethesda MD. It came to them from one of their units doing a show-n-sell recently.
What Goes Around, Comes Around
The story below was forwarded to Trails End from the council in Bethesda, MD. It came to them from one of their units doing a show-n-sell recently.
September 7th, 2008 Lake Ridge, VA -- Pack 1399 was working a popcorn booth sale at the Giant in Lake Ridge, VA on Sunday morning. You could not have asked for a prettier morning to be holding an outdoor fundraiser. As the boys greeted the customers, asking them to support their Cub Scout Pack, many of them would stop and talk for a minute. There was one gentleman that stood out among the rest – an American soldier that had served in Iraq. He began telling us his story about his time in Iraq. You see, this soldier was the very happy and appreciative recipient of our Trail’s End popcorn while serving in Iraq! He told us how they would get shipments and everyone was excited when they would see all the popcorn. They even shared it with the Iraqis that they were working with. He said how everyone loved it and how it would lift their spirits. While serving our country in Iraq, this soldier made a solemn trip to Walter Reed Medical Center after being injured in Iraq. He spent a number of months (over a year and a half) there while he recovered. Again, while he was there he received our Trail’s End popcorn as a gift! Now that he is back at home, he wanted to make a Military Donation to us so that he could give another soldier a gift that meant so much to him.
So remember, Anything's Possible with Trail's End Popcorn!! As this soldier relayed in his story, what you are doing through Scouting makes a difference.
