2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree
Scouts from the Coronado Area Council will have the opportunity to attend a National Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, Caroline County, Virginia. Our council will be taking two troops, each troop will have 36 Scouts and four adult leaders. There will be over 40,000 Scouts and leaders in attendance from all over the country and the world. It is an experience of a lifetime and one you won't want to miss, as the Boy Scouts of America celebrate their 100th anniversary. Imagine eighteen days of fun and activities - all day long - every day - plus some spectacular arena shows with great entertainment, and an opportunity to tour some of our country's historic past. For more information on the Jamboree, visit the BSA Jamboree Website
.
The contigents will be leaving from Camp Brown on July 20th, 2010. While in the Washington D.C. area, the Scouts will tour the National Mall, Arlington National Cemetary, Union Station, Mount Vernon, and the White House. They will attend church at the National Cathedral. On the trip home, the Louisville Slugger Factory and Grant's Farm (home of the Clydesdale Horses) will be toured. The contingents will return to Camp Brown on August 6th, 2010.
Scouts must be at least 12 years of age and First Class Rank by the start of the jamboree and not have reached age 18 before the end of the jamboree. Start making plans now for your Scouts to attend.
