Tour Permits Need to Filled Out in Advance
The Coronado Area Council would like to remind all units as they plan their summer unit trips that you MUST fill out a Tour Permit.
There are two types of Tour Permits. A Local Tour Permit is to be filled out for any trip by a unit under 500 miles in distance. This permit must be submitted to the Council Service Center at least one week in advance.
National Tour Permits are for trips that exceed 500 miles one-way or trips outside the United States. National Tour Permits are to be submitted 6 weeks BEFORE the event. They first need to be submitted to the Council Service Center to be checked over for any discrepancies prior to submitting to the National Office.
When filling out a tour permit make sure someone on the trip has the necessary training courses (Youth Protection Training, Weather Hazard Training, Safety Afloat, etc). Not having this training is the most common reason Tour Permits get rejected.
