Coronado Area Council Scouters Mourn Passing of Lindy Lorenson

Lindon "Lindy" Lorenson, 79, of Salina died Friday, January 9th. Lindy was a past council president and served on the executive board of the council up until his death. He was a former Scoutmaster of Troop 214 in Salina and a Silver Beaver Award recipient. He devoted countless hours of service to maintaining and improving Camp Brown. His impact on that camp and strong connection to it will live on. He touched many lives through the Boy Scouts of America and will be sorely missed by all. The council will be recognizing the 2008 Eagle Scout class at its January 31st dinner and the class will be named the "Lindy Lorenson Eagle Scout Class" in his honor.

Funeral services have been set for Thursday, January 15th at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Salina.Graveside service will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetary. Everyone is invited back to the church after the graveside service to visit. Visitation is at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, and wil be 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
