Dickinson County Historical Society opens 100th Anniversary Exhibit

The Dickinson County Historical Society is pleased to announce a new display celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America.  This display will be available to view from now until October 6 at the Heritage Center.

Starting with its humble beginning in 1907 in England, the Boy Scout movement quickly spread across the ocean to the United States, allowing the Boy Scouts of America to be formed in 1910.  Since then, the BSA has been an important organization for developing many young men into upstanding citizens.

With handbooks dating back to 1910, a backpack belonging to former Scout and governor Bill Graves, and even a Boy Scout action figure, this display is a must-see whether you are an experienced scout or know nothing about the program.  For more information, contact the Heritage Center at (785) 263-2681.

Admission to the Heritage Center is:

Age 2-14: $2.00 (includes free carousel ride)

Age 15-61: $4.00 (carousel ride extra)

Age 62+: $3.00 (carousel ride extra)

Carousel Rides: $2.00
