Centennial Quality Awards Program
The Centennial Quality Awards program is designed to recognize units, districts, councils, areas, and regions in achieving excellence in providing a quality program to a growing youth population in America at all levels of the Boy Scouts of America. This award will replace what was formally known as the Quality Unit or Quality District Award.
The unit leadership will meet with their assigned commissioner or a district level volunteer to review the unit’s program objectives. This must be done before February 15, 2008. It is no longer a part of the rechartering process. The unit will sign a commitment form and post a copy of the form near where the unit regularly meets. This program will be on a calendar year basis. When all requirements are completed beginning no earlier than October 31, but no later than December 31, 2008, a unit can qualify.
This new emphasis will recognize units that set the standard for excellence in our Council and will focus on new pillars each year that will carry us to 2010 in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Scouting. More information will be handed out at the January roundtables or you can go read more using by clicking the link below. This is an opportunity for unit level volunteers to set unit goals and personalize those goals to each individual unit.
