Centennial Encampment Committee Selects Site
Oakdale Park and the Bicentennial Center Complex in Salina, Kansas has been selected as the Centennial Encampment location to be held October 8-10, 2010.
The committee looked at a number of locations based on facilities, access, program features, location, and availability. This facility reached these and other criteria the best.
Committees have been formed and the Vice-Chairs of those committees are seeking interested volunteers to assist. If interested in helping with this great event in one or more of the committees listed below, please contact your district executive or Wayne Pancoast, Assistant Scout Executive.
Program: Includes Exhibits, Religious Services, and program areas.
Physical Arrangements: Includes Event Site Liaison, Military Liaison, Logistics, and Facilities Support.
Publicity: Includes Public Relations, Marketing, and District/Unit Participation.
Special Events: Includes technical support for the closing show and shows throughout the day.
Services: Includes Mobilization, Medical, Security, Health and Safety, Trading Post, and Service Corps.
Campmaster: Primarily a Commissioner Function, covers unit camping areas, district sub-camp stations, Friday evening programs, and registration.
Distinguished Guests: Includes all VIP receptions throughout the event.
