Start recruiting you unit's Popcorn Kernal now. The first Popcorn Kernal Training  and Informational meeting is Friday, August 7th at 6pm and Colby Community College during the 2009 High Plains Scout Pow-Wow. Mark your calendars, this a great way to kill two birds with one stone.  Attend both the Pow-Wow and the training and don't use two evening, that's a great deal.

 Other Popcorn Kernal Training dates and locations include:

 Tuesday, August 18th in Hays

Wednesday, August 19th in Salina

Thursday, August 20th in Abilene

Hopefully on of these training session will work for unit Popcorn Kernals.  There will also be a free meall provided.

Unit Popcorn Kernal Job Description:

Unit Popcorn Kernal

1.       Promote the Fall Popcorn Sale to all Scouts in your Unit

2.       Attend the Kick-off and Training session in August

3.       Make sure that each Scout has the materials necessary to conduct a quality sale

5.       Attend Kick-off and training session held for your district

6.       Assist Scouts in Unit throughout popcorn sale (get materials, pick up orders, ect.)

7.       Track Scouts to make sure they meet ordering deadlines

8.       Help recruit volunteers for delivery pickup

9.       Find ways to help Scouts increase their sells from last year

10.   Work closely with new Scouts selling for the first time to insure successful sell
