The Boy Scouts of America has specialized in High Adventure since it's beginning in 1910 and 100 years later we haven't stopped providing young men and women the pinnicale of the Scouting experince.  The Boy Scouts of America have High Adventure bases all over the United States and most are owned by individual Councils.

There are, however, now four National High Adventure bases that belong to the Boy Scouts of America. They are as follows the oldest and still running Northern Tier in Minesota and Canada founded in 1923, Philmont Scout Ranch located just outside of Cimarron, New Mexico, Sea Base in the Flordia Keys, and the newest and not yet opened High Adventure base that was just purchased in West Virgina in the Appilcation Mountains.

One thing to always to keep in mind when wanting to do a High Adventure trip to one of the National Bases, is that most of the time you need to get registered more that a year in advance to go. So if you want to go to Philmont, you need to start getting things figured out because you may not be able to go for two or three years.

Please see the link below to learn more about each High Adventure Base.  You will learn when to get registered, what to bring, and what to expect if you are lucky enough to get registered for a High Adventure Trek.
