The Buffalo Bill District is committed to keeping all Boy Scouts of America volunteer in the loop as we strive to increase Membership by 5% in 2009.
We will keep this page updated as increases and changes occur. We want you to have access to the same information that Council has because this your District, too. As new units are starting we will post contact information so that you can welcome these newcomers into our Scouting family.
Buffalo Bill 2009 Membership Goals.
1. Increase membership by 5% in 2009 - so far-10% for year end
2. Start 4 New Units - so far 1 in 2009; 5 in progress
3. Retain 90% of units - 100% retention for 2009
4. Look at increase the Venturing program 200% - from 17 to 51 members
5. Give every youth in Northwest Kansas a Chance to join the Scouting program
Overall Membership Update:
-We are 23 Youth ahead of June 2008 and +4 units. One more unit by June, 30th and the Buffalo Bill District will be at "HIGH FIVE CLUB" DISTRICT!
-New Unit possiblities with process started: Bird City Pack 119, Brewster Pack 143, Seldon/Rexford Pack 151, Winona Pack 153, Winona Troop 153, and Venturing Crew with Peace Lutheran Church in St. Francis KS.
- Currently we are behind -15 Boy Scouts for Year End. We are however 48 Cub Scouts ahead of last year currently. We are 33 Total Scout ahead of last June 2008.
- We will need 80 New Scouts from now until Dec. 31st, 2009 to achieve our 5% membership increase for year end. With the start of units in Bird City, Winona, Rexford/Seldon, Brewster, and St. Francis this should be very attainable with the help of School Night for Scouting Sign-ups and Second chance sign-ups in the districts.

We are very near the completion of Pack and Troop in Winona and Bird City. These units should be finished by July 30th, 2009.
