Webelos Resident Camp

The purpose of Cub Scout & Webelos Scout camping is to have fun and to want to continue to camp.  The Coronado Area Council offers Webelos Resident Camp for boys going into grades four and five next fall.  These boys will be your first and second year Webleos Scouts next fall.  Webelos Resident Camp offers nine activity badges over a two-year cycle.

Even year activity badges include:  Aquanaut, Forester, Outdoorsman, Readyman and Outdoorsman

Odd year activity badges include: Aquanaut, Athlete, Geologist, Naturalist and Outdoorsman.

Outdoorsman is repeated because just by camping, the Scout covers many of the requirements and Aquanaut was requested through leader evaluations to be offered each year.

Webelos Resident Camp includes:  camping, campfires, swimming, snorkeling, a polar bear swim, one cookout meal, archery, bb-guns, hikes, ecology study, stary study, Scout's Own religious service, sports games and much more.   The boys are kept busy and have a great time.

The first step is to read the Cub / Webelos Camp Leader Guidebook.  It will be on the web site in February and available at Roundtables and you also can contact the Scout Service Center.  Second, show the Cub Camp DVD at a pack meeting and find out who wants to attend.  The maximum Scout to leader ratio is five Scouts to one leader and both fourth and fifth grade boys can attend together.   If you contact the Scout Service Center, a Webleos Camp Staff member or a leader who has attended camp can do the promotion at your pack meeting. Two Webelos Resident Camps are offered at Camp Brown and one session at Camp Hansen.

Don't miss the fun.  This year's theme is Around the World.
