Cub Scout Resident Camp
Two Sessions offered this year - one at each camp!
The purpose of Cub Scout camping is to have fun and to want to continue to camp. The Coronado Area Council offers Cub Scout Resident Camp for boys going into grades two and three next fall. These boys will be your Wolf and Bear Scouts next fall. Cub Scout Resident Camp offers Wolf and Bear Achievements and electives.
Both Wolf and Bear programs are offered at the same time to make it easier for a leader to bring boys form both grades. Cub Scout Resident Camp does not focus on advancement as much as Webelos Resident Camp, rather has many fun activities with some advancement in the mix. A list of Achievements and Electives covered will be available in May.
Cub Scout Resident Camp includes: camping, campfires, swimming, a polar bear swim, one cookout meal, archery, bb-guns, hikes, ecology study, stary study, Scout's Own religious service, sports games and much more. The boys are kept busy and have a great time.
The first step is to read the Cub / Webelos Camp Leader Guidebook. It will be on the web site in February and available at Roundtables and you also can contact the Scout Service Center. Second, show the Cub Camp DVD at a pack meeting and find out who wants to attend. The maximum Scout to leader ratio is five Scouts to one leader and remember, both second and third grade boys can attend together. If you contact the Scout Service Center, a Cub Scout Camp Staff member or a leader who has attended camp can do the promotion at your pack meeting. New this year, two Cub Scout Resident Camps are offered; a session each at Camp Brown and at Camp Hansen.
Don't miss the fun. This year's theme is Around the World.
